There is crawl space under the floor.  After it rains, water gets through the exterior walls under

the floor and flows like a river through the entire crawl space and out into the garage.

After the inspection, we suggested excavating the soil near the outer walls - 25 meters, and

performing external waterproofing.

All plants were previously carefully removed for temporary storage.

Due to the presence of drainage and water pipes, as well as electrical cables, excavations were

carried out with shovels and manually.

After the soil is removed, the brick wall is always dirty. There is soil and dust stuck to it.

It is absolutely forbidden to apply a membrane to such a surface. The membrane just won't

stick to the wall.

That's why we always wash the wall with a pressure washer. In addition to removing dirt, this

helps reveal previously invisible cracks, holes and other defects in the brickwork that need to

be addressed before applying the waterproofing membrane.

A very important step is the waterproofing of the joint between the concrete foundation and

the brick wall.

To do this, we first need to remove with a jackhammer all the hardened cement

mortar that fell down during the construction of the wall.

We then form the fillet at a 45 degree angle using a water plug.

The waterproofing membrane is applied to the foundation and wall.

To protect against damage to the waterproofing membrane during backfilling, we install

protective plastic shields.

Backfilling is carried out with layer-by-layer (every 100 mm) compaction, which eliminates soil

subsidence in the future.
